Individual therapy

You may need to speak to an experienced mental health counselor if –
  • You feel like you should be happy, but you are not
  • You are constantly angry, stressed out, or burned out
  • You frequently feel sad, or you wonder whether you are depressed
  • You feel on edge for much of the time, and you have wondered whether you are suffering from anxiety (including social anxiety, or generalized anxiety)
  • You feel stuck, lonely, or you are struggling with your relationships
  • You have recently experienced a significant change in circumstances (you have changed jobs, you have become a parent, you have moved home)
  • You might not know what is troubling you.  Often, when we are not feeling good, this can have an impact on our ability to think clearly
All of this is about emotional distress, and we can help you with this.  We would seek medical help for physical pain, so it makes sense to seek help when we are struggling with our mental health.

You are not alone, because all of us have struggled at times.  With the right help, psychotherapy can be an opportunity for growth, and you will end up with more resources to tackle future issues on your own.

How can Individual Counseling help?
We develop patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving.  Although these patterns might have been useful in the past, now we need to replace them with more constructive ways of handling our present life.

Why not share the burden, and speak to a licensed professional counselor. Whether it is a need for anger management, problems with anxiety, or you have been feeling depressed, we can tackle this together.  We will work out what is holding you back, and what you need to thrive.

Chris has helped a number of people, and each time has been different because each person has their unique way of looking at things like anxiety or depression.  Chris is an integrative psychotherapist, so Chris will integrate principles from different approaches, depending on the issues we need to tackle, and your preferred way of working. This could include Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR).  No matter the approach, we will work together to get you back on track.

Just reading this website is a hopeful first step – you are giving yourself the time to consider how you can manage the stressors in your life.  The next step is to get in contact with me. By listening closely, and targeting your unique needs, we will provide you with a tailor-made, professional counseling service.
