While some feel low in spring, others experience a spike in agitation and anxiety. There is a biological reason for this: the increase in sunlight triggers a boost in serotonin, but for those prone to anxiety, that sudden "up-tick" in brain chemistry can feel like a nervous system overload. Look out for these "Spring Anxiety" signs:
My suggestion (as a psychotherapist): Use "Heavy Work" to ground yourself. If the spring air feels too "light" and manic, engage in activities that provide proprioceptive input—weighted blankets, gardening (digging in the dirt), or even vigorous cleaning. It helps anchor your nervous system back into your body. Often what seems like a simple issue might have a more complex origin. I would love to explore this more with you.
