Life After Panic: Building a Resilient Nervous System

Recovering from panic attacks isn't just about stopping the symptoms; it’s about teaching your nervous system that it is safe to relax. As a therapist, I focus on "widening the window of tolerance."
How to Build Resilience:

Check Your Fuel: High caffeine and low blood sugar are physical mimics of anxiety. Stable meals and moderated stimulants make a world of difference.

The "Daily Quiet": You don't need an hour of meditation. Five minutes of intentional silence every morning trains your brain to value stillness.

Re-exposure: If you’ve started avoiding the grocery store or driving because that’s where an attack happened, your world gets smaller. We work on "gentle exposure"—returning to those places in small, manageable steps.

Panic doesn't have to be your permanent roommate. With the right tools and a little patience, you can reclaim your space.
