Should you see a psychotherapist or a neurologist? Here are a few points to consider when you make that decision: A neurologist focuses on the structure and function of the nervous system. They diagnose conditions like epilepsy, Parkinson’s, or multiple sclerosis. A psychotherapist addresses emotional, behavioral, and psychological challenges. These include trauma, anxiety, and mood disorders. Often the two intersect. For example, if there is evidence of cognitive decline, a neurologist might assess but a psychotherapist will support the person with their coping strategy for any emotional or behavioral challenges. In this video I talk to Dr Olga Noskin, neurologist at Neurology Group of Bergen County, and Dr Noskin specializes in vascular neurology. Have a look at the video and let me know if you have any questions. Dr Noskin and I would be happy to answer them. Chris Warren-Dickins Psychotherapist in Ridgewood, New Jersey
